God...

                         Who or what is yours?

Whatever a man depends upon, whatever rules his mind, whatever governs his affections, whatever is the chief object of his delight, is his god.
—Charles Spurgeon

Consider

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,

nor stands in the way of sinners,

nor sits in the seat of scoffers;

but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

                         --Psalm 1:1

You are not obligated to associate with people who are making your life worse. It’s okay to surround yourself with people who are helping you be better and to shy away from people who are willing to drag you down. You’re not obligated to associate with people who are trying to damage the structure of your being. Move away from people like that.

—Jordan B Peterson

Atonement

Although believers by nature are far from God, and children of wrath, even as others, yet it is amazing to think how nigh they are brought to him again by the blood of Jesus Christ.

                         --George Whitefield

If we cannot claim to live sinless lives, then the only thing that can keep us from despairing before a holy God is that we have an Advocate in heaven and He pleads our case not on the basis of our perfection but of His propitiation.

--John Piper

Guard

The LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted?

And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is contrary to you, but you must rule over it.”

                         --Genesis 4:6-7

Satan’s time of tempting is usually after an ordinance; and the reason is, because then he thinks he shall find us most secure. When we have been at solemn duties, we are apt to think all is done, and we grow remiss, and leave off that zeal and strictness as before; just as a soldier, who after a battle leaves off his armour, not once dreaming, of an enemy. Satan watches his time, and when we least suspect, then he throws in a temptation.
—Thomas Watson

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

                         --1 Peter 5:8

Watch constantly against those things which are thought to be no temptations. The most poisonous serpents are found where the sweetest flowers grow. Cleopatra was poisoned by an asp that was brought to her in a basket of fair flowers. Sharp-edged tools, long handled, wound at last.
—Charles Spurgeon

Watch

                         The Water

“The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea” (Isaiah 11:8–9).
